It’s that time of year when the Pikes Peak region’s 62nd Colorado Springs Parade of Homes is open, allowing the public to explore the beautiful homes of the area. Nelson Construction of Denver notes the home tours are available through August 21st, Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm.
The Colorado Springs Parade of Homes is presented by the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs and co-sponsored by several area businesses. It features 27 homes by 24 builders in El Paso and Teller counties. Homes range in price from $99,000 to more than $1.5 million.
One home you won’t want to miss is a three-level Black Forest mansion. The builder calls it a cottage, but this 10,000-square foot home has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a racquetball court, a sunken entertainment room, and even a barber shop, which wouldn’t be complete without a red, white and blue barber pole. You’ve got to see it to believe it, and that’s just what the Colorado Springs Parade of Homes hopes you will do.
The home tour not only has large homes, but it also has beautiful smaller homes like the one-bedroom home located on the grounds of the Air Force Academy. The home and lot sell for $99,900. Think of this, with the home’s 256 square feet; almost 40 of those homes could fit inside the 10,000-square-foot mansion in the Black Forest.
But those two homes aren’t all; there are 25 more amazing homes with differing sizes, floor plans, locations, and designs. People can tour them all and check out the latest construction trends, styles and options of the homes, and the furnishings, appliances, and interior designs as well.
In the Gazette, Tim Seibert, board president of the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs, had this to say, “From large custom homes at 10,000 square feet, to the tiny homes that are on the Air Force Academy as another option, they kind of showcase the wide variety of housing options that are available, and for people to compare and contrast what different builders have to offer.”
The tour of homes also brings people into the different neighborhoods, exposing them to new areas, including The Farm on the Springs’ north side and Forest Lakes, north of the Air Force Academy.
Nelson Construction in Denver says for people in the market for a home, the Colorado Springs Parade of Homes allows them to see the homes in person, not on paper or a tv show. They can experience the look and fell of different home options, and get an idea of what styles and construction are right for them.
